How the Bear about Town
gets about the town.

In this issue of Fauxgue we will take a closer look at two classy bearmobiles. Many readers may ask why we have opted for two Bearopean models. The answer is simple; because we could test drive them for free. First we got hold of the 2009 model of the BearEmKnuffelyou Cabriolet, better known as the “Coldcatcher”, a cool little number. Next we managed to lay our paws on the famous Bearcedes Dullwing, a gutsy two-seater. Before we handed both cars over to the Stag our untamed racing driver, we had a closer look at the two machines.

Both cars came standard with a wheel at each corner. This gives them way more stability then for example the unicycles we tested last month. Also, both were fitted with a windscreen, a welcome invention, as it helps keeping small insects out of the driver’s eyes.

Inside, both cars are equipped with seats, two in the Dullwing and four in the cabrio. The clever engineers at the BMK plant have come up with the great idea of placing them in two rows of two. This is not only an optical improvement of the old “four rows of one” placement but also lessens the “I wanna sit in the front seat” whining by a staggering 50%.

Once out on the track the Stag put both cars through their paces. It became apparent that neither car was really designed with teddy bears in mind. The distance from the otherwise so comfy looking seats to the “go faster” and the “OMG I wanna stop now” pedal is far too great for the average teddy. Even the Stag could only drive both cars standing up straight. This of course meant that the Stag could not see out of the windscreen which may have been the reason that he crashed both vehicles.

Luckily for our Stag both cars were equipped with airbags. Sadly though, those were placed far too high for the Stag, so although his wrists were fully protected by the airbags the rest of his body wasn’t. Both times the impact knocked the stuffing right out of him.

Be sure not to miss the next episode of FauxGear when the Stag shall report his test on two different types of hospital bed.

Drive safely, Beardoctor
